Zoggs Oceans of Fun

Zoggs have launched an exciting new initiative, which started on 13th August 2011 and ran into March 2012, to encourage and inspire children to take part in Olympic aquatic sports. There was a series of events across the country providing up to 400 free spaces (at each event) for children aged 7 to 14 years old to experience four different Olympic aquatic sports.

From the huge success from these events, we are proud to announce  that Zoggs and Total Swimming have extended their agreement to host Zoggs Oceans Of Fun Events for another 18 months. Please keep checking back for up and coming events hosted near you.

Steve Parry (Total Swimming Director) "We are really excited to have teamed up with Zoggs to run this series of Zoggs Oceans of Fun Days. Zoggs is a swim brand with a real passion for swimming and, by using role models in the form of Olympic and Commonwealth athletes, we hope to inspire, motivate and educate young people who will have the chance to come along and take part in these events for free"

"They will not only learn a huge amount at these events but get a once in a lifetime chance to swim against a top athlete and, we hope, begin to understand the benefits, and enjoyment of adopting an active, healthy lifestyle.

"The event is an Inclusive, Educational and Inspirational day of aquatic activities led by Olympic or Commonwealth Athletes. The aquatic activities that can be offered are Minipolo, Fast Swimming, Synchronized swimming, Diving, Rookie Lifeguard and Dryland CPR. The pool and poolside will be sectioned off into these six areas with 15- 20 minutes being attributed to each activity. 

Zoggs Ocean of Fun deliver an energetic, action packed morning or afternoon of skills and games across the 4 Olympic Aquatic disciplines with an expert in the discipline who will provide instruction and encourage the children to persuade and inspire children In Olympic aquatic sports. Swimmers are rotated around the pool allowing them to experience each discipline, providing the opportunity for them to gain top tips and advice off each of our Inspirational athletes. 

"The passion from the Olympians for what they were teaching was excellent. It really made a difference to the kids." 

Each child will receive a Zoggs Oceans of Fun swimming hat and be presented with a medal at the end of the event - after having the chance to compete in race an Olympian!

"I just swam against one of the best swimmers and I just beat him so I feel really good!"

Zoggs Oceans of Fun Days reward our swimmers with the chance for them to meet our Olympic athletes, collect their autographs, have their photographs taken and get a close up of their International Medals to Inspire them to go on and be the best that they can be.

"It was good for the children to be involved in different aquatic sports and given out the key water safety messages and the importance of being involved in taking part in sport"  

Total Swimming have delivered all the Zoggs Oceans of Fun events for 2012.  It has been fantastic 2012 touring the UK with our International Athletes and delivering Zoggs Oceans of Fun events.   We are now currently working together to host more events for 2013, so keep checking out this page for up and coming news.
